「伙炭藝術工作室開放計劃2012」將於2012年1月7-8日及14-15日連續兩個週末，在下午2時至8時於火炭工業區舉行。今年，開放日將有約300位藝術家及80個工作室參與，帶領各位觀眾走進藝術家最私密的工作空間。
Dedicated to enriching Hong Kong’s arts scene, Fotanian Open Studio 2012, an annual event providing a platform for artists to showcase their works, enables the public to have a closer look with their art community, “Fotanian”, which represents the major local art scene.

This year’s event kicks off on 7 January 2012 and the studios’ doors are opened from 2pm to 8pm for two consecutive weekends. With over 80 studios and over 300 artists participating, the celebration has grown to an unprecedented scale.

畫家谷敏昭去年於台灣創立了「高雄•香港藝術村」，讓香港藝術家進駐。我們請到過藝術村的博物館策展人何翠芬，一起介紹這個另類的藝術空間。
Painter Christopher Ku has established an alternative art space in Taiwan ' Kaohsiung • Hong Kong Artist Village' since 2011, giving chances to Hong Kong artists to have residency. Museum curator Selina Ho who has visited the place will come here to share this together with Christopher.

每節節目分兩部份，分別想表達「當人遇到困難，態度應如何面對？」以及「當人面對困難時的信念！」舞蹈利用 “Bosu” (一個直徑約30吋的半圓形球體) 作表演舞台，進行另類空間的表演藝術， 展現編創者的生活態度！
The dance performance contains two sessions, expressing the ideas of " How we face the difficulty?" and " The belief we should have when facing the difficulty!" respectively. The dancers will use an alternative stage "Bosu" ( a 30 feet diameter hemispheroid ) to show the choreographer's attitude towards life!

「你不屬於： 印度電影的過去與未來」的影展將展映印度獨立電影，將寶萊塢以外的印度電影實踐帶給香港觀眾，內容包括記錄片與實驗電影，同時亦出版了一本新翻譯出來有關印度電影三十年的讀本。

You Don't Belong is a season of films, showcasing the range of recent
Indian cinema to make an argument about the moving image in India. It
includes documentaries and experimental video, alongside a reader that
includes newly translated writings of a selection of over 30 years of
writing on the Indian cinema.

每年伙炭開放日均為伙炭工作室向大眾展示作品的平台。今年開放日收集伙炭藝術家的錄像作品放映，讓觀眾能接觸到火炭視覺藝術的不同面向。每節放映將設藝術家分享及答問環節。
The annual Studio Open is a platform for Fotan studios to showcase their works to the public. The Screening is a collection of video works of Fotan artists, hoping to provide a different view of Fotan visual art scene. Each screening session is followed by artist’s sharing and Q&A.

《二手料、原創料》節目中放映一批利用現成符號、片段去創作的實驗短片，其創作風格不只是現今風行一時的惡搞類型的政治諷刺作品，亦包含了其他藝術取向，以至嚴肅的理念或文化討論。


The program “Second-hand Material Original Works” will show nine experimental short videos which involve the use of copies of images or found footage. The style of these works varies, some of them are serious research and discussion of culture, not restricted to “Kuso” style art pieces.

《2011年版權（修訂）條例草案》推出以來，政府由一開始明言批評惡搞，至最近決策局表示修訂非針對二次創作。然而二次創作並未納入豁免範圍所觸發之疑慮及訴求，至今未得到局方妥善處理。
網民以至專業人士及學術界，陸續對惡搞、同人、改歌等創作進行討論。藝術創作有二次創作的傳統。版權原意在於鼓勵創作，條例能否保障創作權利及自由？
《二手料、原創片：香港實驗短片2》延續早前十一月於牛棚之放映及研討，加入兩位藝術家的作品，移師至伙炭，討論公眾如何看待二次創作作為藝術。
On putting forward the Copyright (Amendment) Bill 2011, the Establishment has started off criticizing “Kuso” images, while lately declaring that the Amendment is not targeting on Derivative works. Doubts and appeals, provoked by the refusal of exempting derivative and the attitude of the bureau’s consultation, are left unsettled.
Internet users, professionals, and the academics each expressed their views on parody, fan art and songs. Many Artworks also involves derivative and transformative process. Copyright set out to encourage creativity. Is the Ordinance protecting such values?
“Second-hand Material Original Works 2” is a continuation of the previous screening in November, with an addition of two new video works. Holding the forum in Fotanian, we hope to join artists and the public on discussing and exchanging views on Derivative work in Art.
